Welcome Back to Edgewood: The 2026 Golf Season Begins
There’s something special about the first signs of spring—the longer days, the fresh-cut grass, and that unmistakable feeling that golf season is finally back. At Edgewood Golf Course, we’re excited to welcome our members, leagues, and guests to what’s shaping up to be an incredible 2026 season.
After a true New England winter filled with snow and cold, our team has been hard at work preparing the course for your return. A lot has gone on behind the scenes this off-season, and you’ll start to notice those improvements as soon as you step onto the course.
Looking Ahead to Opening Day
We’re aiming for a Good Friday opening, weather permitting. As always, conditions will determine our exact start date, so be sure to keep an eye on social media or reach out to the pro shop for the latest updates.
Course Improvements & Grounds Update
You’ll notice tree work around the pond on hole 3, between holes 15 and 16, and throughout the course where dead or decaying trees have been removed. This effort is all part of improving playing conditions—especially in areas where exposed roots have made landing zones difficult. More work will continue into next offseason to complete these projects. The greens also received extensive care at the end of last season, including deep tine aeration and heavy sand topdressing—techniques commonly used at high-end courses. You may notice a few small openings early in the season, but these should heal quickly with cooperative weather. We’ve also made equipment upgrades, including new motors for our greens and tee mowers, which will significantly improve the quality of cut and overall turf health as the season progresses. As with any winter, there were a few challenges. Some damage occurred on holes 4 and 7 due to snowmobile traffic, so we appreciate your patience as those greens continue to recover. Ongoing topdressing this spring will play a key role in getting them back to peak condition.Overall, we made great strides last season with our greens, and the goal is to keep building on that momentum. With continued improvements and a strong focus on course conditions, we’re confident Edgewood is on its way to becoming one of the top public courses in the area.
Leagues, Events & Community
The 2026 season is shaping up to be a great one both on and off the course. Our leagues are gearing up and always welcome new players, whether you’re competitive or just out to have fun. Between weekly leagues, tournaments, and outings, there’s something for everyone to be part of this season.

More than anything, we’re excited to see familiar faces and welcome new ones. Edgewood has always been about more than just golf—it’s about community, connection, and enjoying the game together. So dust off your clubs, get ready for sunny days ahead, and join us for another unforgettable season. Here’s to continued improvements, great conditions, and an amazing 2026 at Edgewood.
